How do I get started?
First, call me @ (812) 454-1389 to set up a free in home consultation. I’ll come to your location. I have over 100 samples and other visual aids to help you find the right finish for your space based on your fabrics, paint colors, tile or carpet samples, etc.
Is there a consultation fee?
No. There is no charge to talk with you about your project. Also, color consultation is offered to bring a perfect balance of color through out your home.
Do you offer custom samples?
Yes. Usually the client is able to find the right finish in my extensive portfolio but if not, custom samples can be painted for a small fee.
How do I get on the schedule?
To have your job scheduled, I must first receive a 30-50% down payment. The remainder will be due upon completion of your project.
What do I need to do in the room to prepare?
Remove pictures, etc. from the walls and place a toothpick in nail holes to be saved. Important breakables, such as valuable china, should be moved to another area. Also, unusually large furniture should be moved away from the walls. Any complicated electronic equipment or computers may need to be handled by professionals in that field. Some custom draperies may need to be removed and reinstalled by a drapery installer.
Does Just Faux Fun offer services other than faux finishing on walls?
Absolutely! I can paint your rooms, trim, doors, etc., a solid color or a faux finish. I paint about any surface including: accessories, ceramic tile, brick and stone creations, furniture and cabinet painting or restaining, fireplace makeover and more.
Do I need to work with a designer or decorator?
It isn’t necessary, though I have worked with many designers and many clients find it helpful. I’d be happy to suggest a designer if that is your preference.
Will my walls look exactly like the sample?
As with any hand finished creation, you should expect slight variations. The sample board is a representation of what you’ll get, and I make every effort to match it. Sometimes variables such as existing wall texture or lighting can effect the overall look o but I always make sure you are happy with your project before I consider it finished.
Who will do the finish on my walls?
I am a hands on finisher and do all my own work. However, I have experienced helpers available for large projects.
Why a painted finish as opposed to wallpaper?
Wallpaper was originally designed to mimic painted finishes. Nowadays, a quality wallpaper can cost significantly more than a painted finish. Add to that the cost and headache of eventually changing your wallpaper, and there’s no comparison.
What happens when I want to change my faux finished wall?
Most finishes can simply be painted over. Sometimes a primer is needed and an occasional sanding. This is another advantage to faux painting vs. wallpaper: no messy removal. We do wallpaper removal and in many cases, paint right over the wallpaper.
How durable will my finished walls be?
Your faux finished walls will be very durable. I use quality products and the advantage of a decorative finish is that the texture and appearance of the finish can hide nicks, fingerprints and imperfections.
